At BOSC we believe it is vitally important that students have the opportunity to enjoy their dinners in a relaxed and harmonious environment. To help us achieve this we have two dinner sittings so only half of our students are taking their dinners at any one time.
This reduces queuing times considerably and means that students do not have to rush meals, as there are enough seats for everyone.
There is a 30 minute interval between each dinner sitting so that we can ensure the dining room is in immaculate condition and ready for the second sitting.
We also ensure that our Year 7s have an extra 15 minutes at dinner time (for their first week in school) so that they can relax, have time to consider their meal choices and socialise before the other students arrive.
Our dining room environment is closely supervised by members of the school’s senior teaching staff, ably assisted by friendly and approachable support staff. This ensures we can always guarantee students are able to enjoy their meal in a peaceful, ordered and disciplined environment and helps them focus their minds for afternoon lessons.
Our menu options are extensive in choice and ingredients are freshly sourced and highly nutritious. There is a high uptake of school meals here at BOSC. We also run regular world-themed weeks where children can experience cuisine from all corners of the globe; these events are always highly popular and students are encouraged to engage culturally as they enjoy their ‘taste of the world’.
